The brain is an important part of our body that directs every little thing we do. Our brain is composed of millions of cells that build up tissues and make up the brain. Everyday, new cells are formed replacing the older ones. But for some reason, extra cells are formed without replacing the older cells which in time form into a mass of tissue called tumor. Signs of brain tumor may vary from one person to another depending on the size of the tumor. And not all brain tumors are cancerous but these tumors can still be fatal and cause various problems on the brain function.

There are two forms of brain tumor, the benign (non-cancerous) and the malignant (cancerous). Malignant tumor is the very aggressive type that grows rapidly within the confines of the skull. This can lead to an increased pressure in the brain resulting to life-threatening situations. The benign type of tumor is less grave but can still create various problems.

Signs and Symptoms of Brain Tumor

The severity of the various signs of brain tumor is not the same for all people. Some individuals don’t experience any signs at all until it is too late. Early symptoms don’t often occur. But here are the signs of brain tumor:

Tumors can affect surrounding tissues including the eyes. When you experience some blurred vision, double vision, and loss of peripheral vision then consult with the doctor right away.

Memory problems

Some patients may suffer from short-term memory loss. This symptom is a result of the formation of tumor in the temporal lobe area.

Weakness or strange sensation in one part of the body

An adult person with brain tumor may experience this symptom like being clumsy or experience imbalance while walking. The pressure in the parietal lobe of the brain causes the coordination difficulties.

Speech difficulty

Unintentional slurring while speaking can occur to a brain tumor patient. Despite the effort to communicate well, sentences may sometimes come out in an orderly manner or sometimes with no sense at all.

Some signs of brain tumor may likely be the same as other conditions, but when you experience all the symptoms stated above then don’t hesitate to have them checked. Thinking about tumors can be scary, much more with cancer. Brain tumors rarely occur but it can happen and spread and grow very rapidly, so every minute is important.
